Upgrading from 11.52 to 12.55, do we need a NEW License key?

We already have HP ALM 11.52 installed in our existing servers and we want to upgrade to 12.55. We are setting up a new application and DB servers and would like to install ALM 12.55 as a new installation.

We currently have a license key installed on the old server, ALM11.52.

Can we use the same licenses for new 12.55 version also?
We want to temporarily use the licenses for both new and old ALM environment while we move the projects from old to new one.

(( I assume you are current with HPE/MicroFocus maintenance. ))

Yes, your license from 11.52 should work with 12.xx, and is is common to use both during migration, BUT you COULD use the ''evaluation license'' during server install and then submit a case to ask for ''migrated'' license for 12.x.

Generally, you are allowed to use a license for a ''production'' ALM server and a ''test'' ALM server -- as long as the ''test'' server/projects are not used for production purposes by end users.
