Why is one workstation consuming two BPT licenses for ALM and UFT?

We are currently using ALM 11.52.724 with UFT 12.54, and we are experiencing what we believe to be an issue where a single workstation is consuming 2 BPT licenses. For example – When the user is in ALM working on BPT assets (Component or Test Plan ALM modules), and they leave the BPT assets and go to some other module in ALM (i.e. Test Lab, Defects, etc) – ALM is NOT releasing the BPT license that it reserved. If at the same time, this user opens UFT, a second BPT license is being consumed, totaling 2 BPT licenses being consumed for a single user on a workstation. Is this by design, or is this a flaw within the application? Thanks!

We are familiar with issue, and Micro Focus has advised that this is a known issue when using ALM with UFT versions 12.52, 12.53, 12.54. If you don't have patch 5 installed on your UFT 12.54, it is recommended to install patch 5 for UFT 12.54 to resolve the issue.
