We have system fields we would like to make invisible to multiple user groups. How do we do this?

Under ALM 12.53, we use workflow to hide some fields based on criteria and user groups. While that works fine in the Details pages, we have seen that if you are in tree or grid view, via the Select Columns menu button, you can add back those hidden fields. Noticed with Sprinter after connecting to ALM and loading some test and details, that hidden fields from ALM are visible. ALM client blocks these fields per client. Why does Sprinter show them?
