Defect Comments now display name/Date/ M/d/yyyy Is this a known defect in the ALM 15.5.1 release?

Hello,

Defect Comments are now displaying name/Date/ M/d/yyyy when we enter a new comment.
Is this a known defect in the release? We just upgraded to ALM 15.5.1 and dont believe we added it in anyway through our customized workflow as we haven’t changed it but don’t recall it being there in our previous version of ALM 12.21.

Hi HomerJ,

It is a design "feature" that was added in ALM 15.01.  Enough complained about not having this available and desiring it so they added it as a default situation.  After release enough complained about it being the default that now it can be controlled by the following parameter:

SHOW_DATE_FORMAT_IN_COMMENT Description: Show/Hide date format in the Comments panel. If this parameter is set to "N", the format would not show behind the date in the comments panel. By default it's enabled.

Default value: Y

Introduced in release: ALM 15.01

Introduced in patch: 2

System: false



Add the above parameter to the site configuration tab with your desired Y or N value and this will resolve your issue as desired.
