Hello,

User is getting a warning message of “Make sure the server URL is correct and server is running: Status code 306:
even when using correct URL and the ALM application server is up and running. e have verified the URL is correct and can log into the application while using Internet Explorer browser, so we know it is correct and working. When we try with the ALM Client Launcher and Microsoft Edge browser, we get the stated error. The only thing that has recently changed is that our Windows 10 versions were upgraded and before then we had no issues and all the access options worked correctly. Any ideas?

Thanks,

HomerJ

Make sure you're firewall rules are already enabled from the system where you are trying to access ALM. Using telnet operation you can able to validate the firewall rule.

Telnet #ALMURL #Port

Sample: telent alm.com 443

If it's connected successful means no issues with respect to firewall. If it's throws any error you need to enabled the firewall communication from the source to destination system's.

Hi HomerJ,

I have trouble shot this sort of issue recently with a client and we found that when launching Edge and the Client launcher by right clicking the icons and selecting the “run as Administrator” options the error went away and connection was established correctly. I would suggest that you talk with your security team and see if a group policy or the way that the implementation of the two failing methods had changed as both of those can require special policy set up, exceptions, and permission settings to work when Internet Explorer doesn’t requires such things.

Hope this helps,

Dan
