Quality Center calculate the Actual Fix Time in days. Is there a method to calulate the defect age in minutes, hours, etc.?

We are importing projects from an acquired. These project will be upgraded from v11.52 to v12.2. We have a request for the next defect Id to start at 10000 going forward. The last defect before the upgrade is 7541. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Is there a way to hide a Defect tab without deleting the user field? I need it to disappear from the Defect grid screen as well as the Defect Details.
