Using QTP or VB script, how can I connect to a remote Linux server and then access files on that server? I need to verify certain things on the files on Linux servers. How is it possible using QTP or VBscript?

When I run an automated script in QTP and it gets errors, I look at the results file. When I drill down and select each error, sometimes it shows me a screen capture app under test associated with that error, and sometimes it does not. I do not see any pattern so far.
